Hopefully I’ll be at Dragon*Con again next year. Maybe I’ll even make a good costume!

Snow Day!!!

by Ian on Feb.12, 2010, under Image Dump

Atlanta had a pretty major snow today, of at LEAST 3 inches. It was crazy! GT actually canceled classes… at 2:30. My friends and I did the obvious thing and built a snow couch.

Photos after the break:

Poor… Poor… Shirt…

by Ian on Oct.01, 2009, under Image Dump

For some inexplicable reason, every time I wear my “A Brief History of Art” shirt, I spill coffee on it. Nothing else, just coffee…

The offending beverage!
It is like a stretched South America!
Hmm…. well… er…

Now that I am here, I feel like I should do something to make your time worth while… but I got nothing of my on at the moment, so I think I will subject you to a[n] [awesome] song I have had stuck in my head for the past couple days by Rhett&Link:

DIY part 3

by Ian on May.27, 2009, under Image Dump, Projects

Conveniently, this became a 3 part series. :)

We completed the room today and awesomeness permeates throughout every board! Seating fills the room, so we can cram a few dozen people in there comfortably [enough]. It feels a lot like a club house you’d make as a kid, but less likely to collapse on you (and your parents won’t tear it down because you “borrowed” the dining room chairs). Not much else to say really… I hope you enjoyed this series!

I actually used a real camera and not my phone, so these pictures turned out pretty well.

DIY part 2

by Ian on May.26, 2009, under Image Dump, Links, Projects

Wow, the renovations of that sketchy room have really taken off! I was unable to give Davin a hand yesterday, but he was able to get all of the major walls up, and the rest of the ceiling installed. Today we disassembled my ball pit, transported it to his house, and repurposed the wood to make an entry way to the lounge/ball pit, and a nifty little seating nook. Walling the nook was interesting… in a horrible way. I had to spend way too much time in a cramped, dark gap to fasten the rear wall on, while trying to not get Tetanus from the decaying ceiling. The work is going to be worth it in the end! I had to leave early to get some work done, so even more has likely been completed. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to head over tomorrow to help finish it up.

Well today was interesting! I have been itching to work on something real lately, luckily Davin was beginning work to transform a nasty storage area under his stairs into a lounge/ball pit. Quite a job! He had already gotten it as clean as it was going to get and removed a lot of rotted drywall and I am very glad I missed that part.

Work is moving along at a decent pace. Today we were able to get the carpet and part of the ceiling in; Tomorrow we are hoping to get enough of it finished to put the couch in. Then we’ll put in the rest of the walls, lights, and of course the balls. That’s all for now, enjoy these pictures of our work day.

Something to pass the time

by Ian on May.19, 2009, under Image Dump, Links

Just in case you needed another little distraction in your life, I found this neat little warning label generator.  I have also been messing around with Flash the last couple of days, and I should have a game or two up on this site soon, so keep a lookout for that. I haven’t forgotten about my other projects, I just have a little more free-time than usual since I am not taking classes this summer. (I am working, but that is still less of a time commitment than classes. lol)  Maybe I’ll actually finish posting all of the other junk I have been meaning to get up here while I am at it!

One more thing. I just found the cable for connecting my camera to my laptop, so I thought I would share two images with you.

I also got to go see Nightwish in concert last week, and I naively atempted to snap a picture of them performing... It almpost worked.

A Maneki Neko (good luck cat) I got from the FIRST robotics team I mentored. I might be unable to help them next year because of other obligations, so they are wishing me luck.

Catch ya later!
